We had a number of fruitful discussions with tenants’ representatives interested in the expansion of their brands on the Hungarian market,” reports Orsolya Stefánkovits, senior leasing manager in Echo Investment’s Shopping Centre Department.
The multifunctional Mundo centre is being developed in one of the largest and most affluent districts of Budapest – Zugló. The leasable area in the facility amounts to 35,000 sqm. Mundo will include 170 shops and a car park offering 1,425 spaces.
‘We are developing Mundo with customers’ and tenants’ comfort and needs in mind. That is why we focused on unique architecture as well as modern functional and transport solutions. This well thought out project will have a balanced tenant mix, which will be based on the fashion, service, cafe and restaurant offer plus entertainment, sports and recreation,” says Tomasz Domoń, commercialization team manager in Echo Investment’s Shopping Centre Department.
The investor already has a building permit. The facility is to be finished in 2017. The Mundo project will constitute the centre of the Zugló district in the future and apart from the commercial function it will also serve public and community functions. Echo Investment signed an agreement with the local authorities concerning common activities aimed at building the new centre of the Zugló district. Apart from the Mundo complex it will consist of an office building, a market hall which has been there for many years and the modernized Lantos Mihály sports centre which will be surrounded by a green recreational area.
